I went into the Gerber Collision And Glass facility at 1060 West Huron St. in Chicago, on Monday of this week. My driver’s side door was pulled slightly off track in a terrific windstorm several weeks ago. After this incident I would often hear the wind howling as I drove if the door didn’t close just right. Originally, I took the car into the Toyota Dealership, where I bought it, and after an hour of examining the car and gathering much information I was given two possible estimates; one for a bit over $100 and a second estimate for about $300 if a hinge needed to be replaced. I was told that they would have to order the part and it could take about two weeks to arrive. I decided that I needed a second estimate and ended up at Gerber Collision. I was met as I entered by Mr. Danny Contreras who immediately arose from his desk and gave me ... a warm, friendly greeting. I told him about the windstorm as he followed me to the car. He looked it over for less than two minutes. He pointed out the misalignment and told me that I might need a hinge for about $90. He wanted to show it to one of the technicians as he thought it really would be a quick fix. He said it would take about 10 minutes. Less than 10 minutes later he asked me to come out to the car. The door was realigned and shut perfectly each time I opened and shut it. In addition he had the car washed for me. When I asked how much I owed him he said, “Oh there’s no charge.” He flashed me another warm smile. Now that is what I call, “Knock your socks off,” customer service! I had a really good experience with Danny Contreras as my collision advisor. I had some damage to my car from a vandal, and he was really helpful in advising me regarding how to repair the damage in an affordable way.

The last week of November I was involved in a car collision. At my work place there are few near by auto shops I took my car for a couple of estimates but the workers of the shops were NOT very friendly. The workers were pressuring me to leave my car and were not explaining clearly enough the work that my car needed. A customer at my work place mentioned Gerber by West Huron and because of the great recommendation I decided to take my car to Gerber's Collision. The manager Rick Hiselman, as well as Tim Dulin the estimator who were very friendly in answering my questions and making sure all my needs were met. The reason why I would highly recommend Gerber's Collision is because of their excellent customer service, following up with me by phone to keep me updated with the status of my car. Danny Contreras took very good care of me. He was in constant communication with me to let me know what was happening with my car, he personally made arrangements for my rental car and even helped me transfer my belongings back to my car when the repairs were complete. Danny made what is usually a stressful situation much easier. I would definitely recommend Gerber and Danny to others.

Hi, I had a service on 11/19/2010 with the vehicle Red Kia Sportage. Every employee there was very professional. Excellent Service. The atmosphere at the body shop was very friendly compared to other body shops. Especially, the general manager was very helpful. I would recomment other friends to this shop.
