On October 10, 2012, the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a consumer safety advisory to alert vehicle owners and repair professionals to the dangers of counterfeit air bags.

In the interests of vehicle owner safety, Gerber's policy has and will continue to be to only use new original equipment manufacture (OEM) air bags. These air bags are made or sold by the vehicle manufacturer and not a third party. If you have had your air bags replaced at any Gerber Collision & Glass location and want to learn more about your air bags, please send an email to airbag@gerbercollision.com with the repairing location address and your repair order number, which can be found on the final bill provided at the completion of repairs.
